Ralph Lauren toile floral print dress

With winter drawing to a close and Spring right around the corner (it's technically supposed to be here now, but clearly our weather system didn't get the memo), this adorable Ralph Lauren long sleeve cotton dress is a great weight for this time of year. Doesn't hurt that it's super cute too!

***************************************************
Brand: Ralph Lauren
Size: 9 months
Retail price: (approx.) $45
Fashion Baby's age at time of wearing: 6 1/2 - 7 months
***************************************************

For today's outfit we have a soft cotton long sleeve dress by Ralph Lauren. It's a great weight for early Spring while we're waiting for temperatures to rise, or for cooler Spring and Summer days and evenings.

It features a white cotton poplin collar with a little ruffle around the edge.

The dress features a white background with a muted red pattern of floral bunches. Fashion Baby is both intrigued by the pattern and very happy wearing this dress!

The floral bunches are larger and more concentrated at the hem of the dress.

There is also a seam giving the dress a slightly high (though not quite empire) waist.

The back of the dress closes with 3 buttons.

Naturally, it also comes with a matching diaper cover! (I am always annoyed with dresses that don't!)

To complete her look, we accessorized with a pair of leather Robeez shoes detailed with white satin bows and soft leather soles. I love these shoes because they actually stay on her feet (so rare with most shoes) and they go with just about everything). Robeez can be a little more pricey than some other brands of shoes, but I would recommend making the splurge on at least one pair that will go with most of your baby's outfits. The quality is absolutely tops, and it is sooooo nice not to be constantly searching for your baby's shoes that fell off who knows where. These really do stay on!

The Low Down-

Sizing: A little small. FB wore this 9 month size dress starting at about 6 1/2 months. She also has a Ralph Lauren long sleeve polo style dress that she started wearing at the same time that was also 9 month size. So these long sleeve RL dresses seem to run consistently a bit small.

Price Point: Medium You definitely pay a bit for the Ralph Lauren name here, but at the same time, with that name comes consistently cute styles and dependable quality.

Quality: Tops! So far both of FB's Ralph Lauren dresses have held up beautifully through the washer and dryer, seams and adornments stay looking great, no complaints at all!

Practicality: TOPS! The dress has nice soft cotton so it feels good against FB's skin, it's not restrictive in any way, which allows for easy play, and it is a timeless style, so it won't start looking dated, even if it's worn by a little sister a few years down the road.

Overall Cuteness: HIGH I really like this dress. I think it's sweet and I can take her anywhere in it without her looking overly dressed up, but still very cute and put together.

Happy 7 months old, Fashion Baby!

Carter's yellow floral pajamas

Today we have a super sweet sleeper from one of my favorite baby pajamas makers, Carter's. They have a white background with a print of little yellow flowers with green leaves and darling trim work, including embroidered flowers on the collar. Often when a company has such massive production, their quality and style can be a little sub-par, but this is NOT the case with Carter's. They make some of the cutest pajamas out there and are consistently tops in quality!
***************************************************
Brand: Carter's
Size: 6 months
Retail price: (approx.) $14
Fashion Baby's age at time of wearing: 5-7 months
***************************************************
These yummy little jammies have a darling white Peter Pan collar with three little embroidered yellow roses on each side. The entire collar is edged with yellow scalloped embroidered edging. So sweet! (Click pics for better detail.)

The adorable attention to detail continues at the feet with two sweet little bows above each foot, and the yellow scalloped edging that we saw on the collar, echoed on the edges of the sleeves. There is also a seam at the chest that creates a soft, feminine gathering across the top of the pjs.

These are some of my favorites of Fashion Baby's pajamas. They are so sweet and girly (without going over the top) and are also wonderfully soft. Wearing them makes FB very happy!

Little Me, take note: This is how baby pajamas should fit!

They give babies room to move and be comfortable. Just what one wants in a pajama! Also Coccoli needs to take note: Carter's uses a very similar type of enameled snap, but the enamel doesn't come off of the Carter's snaps. Coccoli, change the snap makers for your baby pajamas! Call your buddies at Carter's for suggestions... :)

**************************************************
The Low Down-

Sizing: True to Size FB has worn these from just over 5 months to nearly 7 months. They are just starting to get a little short for her, but fit well everywhere else.

Price Point: Medium-Low I've seen Carter's pajamas retailing from anywhere between $9 and $24. The best prices I've seen are actually at Costco! They same adorable Carter's styles for between $6 and $9. They go quickly though, so keep an eye out and snatch them up when they come in.

Quality: Tops! Fashion Baby has had at least 8 pairs of Carter's pajamas over her little life so far, and I have never had ANY quality problems with them at all. Carter's has proven to be a consistently trust-worthy brand.

Practicality: TOPS! These pajamas fit well, look adorable and baby-like (as baby pjs should!) and hold up beautifully to repeated trips through the washer and dryer.

Overall Cuteness: TOPS! These pajamas are some of my favorites because they are so sweet and feminine, but I have so many other pairs of Carter's pajamas that I love just as well. Don't even get me started about her ducky pajamas!! (Ok, I can see I'm going to have to do a salute to Carter's pajamas soon, with lots of pics!) :D

See you tomorrow!

Kissy Kissy shirt and sweater dress

Hello again from Kissy Kissy land! I told you I love this brand, so today we have another Kissy Kissy outfit. This one is from the regular Kissy Kissy line (as opposed to the Premiere or Besos lines). It is a darling collared long-sleeved onesie with a Cinderella themed sweater dress.
***************************************************
Brand: Kissy Kissy
Sizes: 6-9 months
Retail price: (approx.) $50
Fashion Baby's age at time of wearing: 5-6 months
***************************************************
So here is a sweet offering from Kissy Kissy that has served us very well this chilly winter. The long sleeved onesie is made from that amazing signature Pima cotton that Kissy Kissy is so famous for. (I swear, all baby clothes should be made from this stuff!) It has a fun and colorful floral print that is echoed in a strip of the same floral print fabric around the chest of the sweater dress.

The shirt has beautiful pink scalloped detail work along the edges of the collar and the sleeves. This same pink edging is featured around the necklines and sleeve openings of the dress.

The dress/jumper is of a super soft sweater material made of 100% cotton. Embroidered on the front is Cinderella's coach. So cute!!!

To close, the dress fastens with three buttons on the back of the dress.

As always, the quality is top notch. Kissy Kissy really never goes wrong (at least not in any of the many, many pieces I have of theirs) in this department. The styling is sweet, the fabric is soft - absolutely perfect for a baby. The only rough spot with Kissy Kissy remains their sizing which, as always, runs very small. At 6 months, Fashion Baby was at the very end of this outfits wearability.

**************************************************
The Low Down-

Sizing: Small. Order one sizing group up (at least) from your child's size

Price Point: Medium The regular Kissy Kissy brand runs less than the Premier line. Honestly, this brand is worth every penny you pay for it. If you are going to have a little splurge, do it on something from one of the Kissy Kissy lines. Order very large and use it for as long as you can! You won't regret it!

Quality: Tops! Fashion Baby has at least 10 pieces from Kissy Kissy, Kissy Kissy Premier, and Besos by, Kissy Kissy and the quality has never faltered among any of them. The cotton is always super soft and stays looking beautiful wash after wash.

Practicality: TOPS! This outfit not only stays looking cute, but the sweater material was wonderful for keeping FB warm this winter. Paired with some warm cotton tights, she stayed looking cute while also staying warm and being able to move and play perfectly.

Overall Cuteness: TOPS! I love this outfit! I like the fun floral print of the shirt and the darker purply-pink shade of the dress. It's not the same old pink that you see all over the place in girls' clothes. The Cinderella's coach on the chest is sweet and girly without going overboard into schmaltzy charicature stuff. Sweet, simple, understated and darling!

Coccoli terrycloth pants and shirt

Today, for your baby clothes viewing pleasure, we have a terry cloth footed pant and kimono-style shirt by Coccoli, in chocolate brown and pink.

***************************************************
Brand: Coccoli
Sizes: Pants & top - 6 months
Retail price: (approx.) $60
Fashion Baby's age at time of wearing: 6 months
***************************************************
Coccoli means "pampered babies" in Italian. The quality of these baby clothes definitely holds true to the name, (which I'm sure is pronounce Co-CHO-lee, but in my own little mind I prefer to think of it as Coccoli like broccoli.) :)

Coccoli made two of my favorite of Fashion Baby's pajamas from her younger days (one of which I have pictured below), so I was excited to try out their day wear. The terry cloth fabric is super soft and has a great texture on the striped shirt. FB loves to feel the little ridges in the striping.

The pants are fully footed, which at first I didn't think I was going to like, but I ended up absolutely loving! Footed pants keep your babies legs so much warmer than regular pants and socks because there is no gap for air to hit baby's skin. Though these are a light to medium weight terry cloth, I felt they kept FB comfortable on a chilly day, while she had tummy time on the floor.

The shirt is in a kimono style, which is very typical for Coccoli clothes (day and night wear). It has two little brown velvet bows that you have to make sure to press down after you pull the shirt out of the dryer. (Something I clearly forgot to do before taking these pics!)

Here are one of the pairs of Coccoli pajamas that FB used to wear back in her Uncle Fester days. :) They are also in the kimono style and are made of super soft, light weight cotton with a soft red toile print. They held up beautifully to repeated washings, with the exception of the snaps. The white paint on the snaps chipped off, which was definitely detrimental to the aesthetics, and created some stress making sure that FB didn't ingest any of the chipped paint.

(You can see the chipped top snap in the second picture.)
**************************************************
The Low Down-

Sizing: True to size (hooray!)

Price Point: Medium-High

Quality: Very High It is part of the company's philosophy to put their clothes through rigorous quality testing and it shows. Seams are beautifully sewn, stripes are lined up perfectly, and the fabrics hold up beautifully to washings. Now if they can just get the snaps on their pajamas to measure up to everything else!

Practicality: TOPS! The footed pants keep Fashion Baby's legs warmer than any other pants and socks combo. Even with thick socks, pants can get scrunched up and baby's legs can get exposed. With these Coccoli pants, baby's legs and feet are always fully covered, which is great on those cooler days. Fashion Baby seems to love the feeling of the fabric and it holds up beautifully in the washer and dryer. (Just remember to press down the little bows right when you take it out of the dryer so they don't roll up.)

Overall Cuteness: Medium I am not totally in love with the looks of this outfit. It has so much dark chocolate brown, that it has a sort of "heavy" feel to it. I'm not a fan of that in baby clothes. I prefer them to have a look that is more light, sweet and baby-like. That said, I do like the terry cloth fabric and the kimono style of the top with the little bow details on the chest. Not bad, but not my favorite outfit. I keep this as more of a staying home outfit.

Kissy Kissy Premier shirt and courduroy jumper

Today we have a super cute little outfit by one of my favorite baby brands, Kissy Kissy Premier. If you aren't familiar with this brand, it's a good thing you're reading this! It is wonderful!!!

*********************************************
Brand: Kissy Kissy Premier

Size: 6-9 months

Retail price: (approx.) $75

Fashion Baby's age at time of wearing: just under 6 months

*********************************************
First off, let me say how much I ADORE the Kissy Kissy brand. From newborn to about 4 months old, Fashion Baby absolutely lived in Kissy Kissy outfits. My favorites were from the Kissy Kissy Premier line, which feature sweet embroidered embellishments. You will not find a brand with softer cotton that always stays looking brand new. It doesn't pill and looks like it just came from the store after every washing. The styles are always sweet and perfect for babies, especially in the newborn up to 3-6 month age bracket. They have precious outfits that are perfect for bringing baby home from the hospital and for every day wear. Baby will stay warm and comfortable while looking like a little angel.

Unfortunately I don't feel any of my snapshots of this particular Kissy Kissy outfit capture how cute it really is. It is absolutely darling! It's a light pink corduroy jumper with little pink flowers embroidered on it. The jumper is lined with Kissy Kissy's signature super soft pima cotton.

Underneath is a white, long sleeved Pima cotton onesie with a sweet peter pan collar out of a more linen-like cotton. There is a row of light pink, then a row of darker pink, stitching around the edges of the collar and bottom of the sleeves. The same stitching is featured on the jumper, so the two pieces are tied together beautifully!

There are two buttons to fasten the straps on the front of the jumper, and two buttons on each side to help in getting it easily off and on.

The pocket detailing is so cute. There is one pocket on the front of the jumper, mid-chest, and two more little pockets on the seat. All feature the light and medium pink stitching around the edges as well as the embroidered flowers.

Naturally, no outfit would be complete without shoes, so we paired this look with some pink and white checked espadrilles by, Coasters. I LOVE these shoes! They fasten with a velcro trimmed strap and feature a little bow in the center of the strap. There is white ric rac trim around the shoe opening that finishes the look. So cute! The bottom of the shoes have wonderful rubber soles with great traction (not that FB's even close to walking, but good to note if getting these in a larger size). These run slightly on the small side.

********************************************

The Low Down-

Sizing: Kissy Kissy always runs very, very small. You will want to get these outfits at least one size up. (ie: If your baby is between 3 and 6 months, get the 6-9 month size, etc.)

Price Point:
Medium for Kissy Kissy, Medium-High for Kissy Kissy Premier

Practicality:
for this outfit, Medium-High. For the brand overall, HIGH! I only say medium-high for this outfit because of the overall skirt/jumper style in general. While it looks ADORABLE, it constantly scoots up when baby moves around, so the bottom of the skirt is somewhere around her waist and the upper part of the dress is bunched up under her chin. Not a huge deal, but not optimal in terms of practicality. If there was a little fastener on the inside (like the snaps of a onesie) that would keep the dress in place, it would be perfect!

Overall Cuteness: TOPS! I absolutely love this little outfit and nearly everything that Kissy Kissy makes, especially in their Premier and their Besos by, Kissy Kissy lines. The pima cotton is so incredibly soft and it always comes out of the wash looking perfect. If you get it right out of the dryer (dried on low/delicate heat) these outfits even look like they've been ironed! The designs, fabrics and beautiful embroidered details make Kissy Kissy outfits perfect for this special baby time.

Baby Lulu, Denmark romper

Hi Fashionistas! Today we're checking out an electric purple velour romper by Baby Lulu.

*********************************************

Brand: Baby Lulu

Size: 9 months

Retail price: $38.50

Fashion Baby's age at time of wearing: 6 months

*********************************************

Baby Lulu is a brand with a pretty large following. Their clothes tend to be on the funky, sort of Hippie side. A lot of mixing of patterns and "patchwork" styling can often be seen. I liked the Denmark romper because it was the simplest of what I saw offered from Baby Lulu. The colors are bright and vibrant, I love the stitch work on the giant flower, and the outfit overall seemed fun and comfortable for playing in.
When I first put Fashion Baby in this romper, she was just shy of 6 months old and it was still a little short in length, even though it was a 9 month size. These rompers definitely run on the short side, so if you have a long baby, like FB, you'll definitely want to order at least a size up. (It was a little bit baggy on her, but in this style, I don't think that really matters.)

The flower on the front is all embroidered. It looks really wonderful and ornate in person.

The wrists and ankles are trimmed in a hot pink mesh ruffle. (Note the highwater length of the legs.)

The neck is trimmed in a pleated hot pink silky material.

********************************************
The Low Down-

Sizing: Runs a bit short. If your baby is on the long side like FB, then it runs very short.

Price Point: Medium

Practicality: Medium-High. It's great for playing and crawling around. The outfit is very comfortable for the baby and is completely machine washable (make sure you wash it inside out to keep the velour looking nice.) The length is the only thing that makes it lose some practicality points. The amount of time a long, skinny baby can wear this is very, very short. (Like the outfit itself!)

Overall Cuteness: Very cute! The color is extremely vibrant and the flower detail is lovely. This is a great outfit for playing around in. I am interested to get to know more of their clothes. There seems to be a fairly broad range in their style, so I think there's a little something for everybody. Hopefully I can find a couple more pieces that are right up FB's alley!
