Catimini pants and reversible shirt

Hello! Today's outfit is by Catimini. They are a French clothing company with clothes on the decidedly funky side. Fashion Mom tends to lean towards the traditional when it comes to picking Fashion Baby's clothes, but decided to take a walk on the wild side and explore some of Catimini's togs. I went with a pair of cotton pants and a reversible shirt.

Brand: Catimini

Sizes: Pants and shirt - 6 months.

Retail prices (approx.): pants $40-$60, shirt $30-$50

Fashion Baby's age at time of wearing: 6 months

The shirt is long sleeve and features the Catimini logo along with some jolly art work. (Anything featuring a dog in a space helmet is ok in my book!)

The shirt also features gathering at both shoulders which adds a cool, fashionable flair. (Click pics to enlarge and see detail.)

The shirt is reversible. The opposing side is brown with white polka dots. This can be seen in the trim on the bottom of the shirt, which closes with snaps all the way up the back, and the bottom of the sleeves.

There is red stitching on the pants and shirt that tie the two pieces together. This is definitely not a "matchy matchy" outfit. The stitching is really all that ties the two pieces together, but there is something in that subtlety that adds to its style.

The pants are 100% cotton with a lining that is also 100% cotton but of a texture that feels like super soft t-shirt/jersey material. I doubt the exterior is water resistant but the texture of the material almost feels like it could be. The pants seem very comfy! Fashion Baby sure seems happy in them!

The pants are gathered at the bottom hem of the legs. A nice fashionable flare, and it also helps them stay down a bit better when the little one is scootching all around.

The Low Down-

Sizing: Very true to size (how refreshing!)
Price Point: medium-high
Practicality: For both - TOPS! This is great play wear that also looks stylish. Baby has all the comfort of being in pajamas, but will look great if you have to run out or someone pops by to visit. All pieces go straight into the washer and dryer and they don't need ironing which adds, even further, to their practicality.
Overall Cuteness: Surprisingly cute! I really wasn't sure if this outfit was going to look good. The muted colors seemed like they could wash FB out or just seem generally dull, but they ended up looking great and the modern style and fashionable detailing of this outfit make it hip and fresh without seeming like it doesn't belong on a baby. Très chic!
